James Drummond doet verslag van de spannende wedstrijd tussen HBS Heren 1 en de vorig seizoen gedegradeerde hoofdklasser Stichtse.
The HBS men’s team hosted a real nail biter of a game this weekend vs SCHC. Against the top of the table team the Heren1 came out firing and went 1-0 up courtesy of Tim Ossewarde in the first quarter with a sensational drag flick.
All pressure was on the away team to equalise after half time but HBS held onto the lead until the 3rd quarter where SCHC equalised. It was an epic battle in the last few minutes of the game after SCHC scored a sensational drag flick top right to make it 2-1 in favour of the away team.
In the dying seconds of the game the HBS coach called for the goal keeper and captain Fritz Schnoekal to be substituted in order to have an extra player up front.
A short corner was won with 3 minutes left in the game and although it was almost an equalising goal the match ended 2-1. The boys fought hard but suffered a narrow defeat in the last few minutes. On to next week #100 years.
